Hi I am Brittany, the owner of Salon D.O.G. (Dedicated, outstanding, Groomers). A little backstory, when I was 16 I didn’t know much about animals. I knew I loved them. I knew I didn’t have a fear of them, however didn’t have a clue about grooming. I got a job at a pet store in 2004 & I loved it! I worked on learning everything I could about all animals. When I decided I wanted to transfer into the grooming department I thought it was going to be an easy place where I could play with puppies all day, but I was wrong! Little did I know it was hard work!
I struggled learning how to control them while also learning to earn their respect. I went to the grooming academy in 2007, and with my management, staff, and formal education I was able to learn so much. I am still learning and continue to educate myself as well as my staff.. I found that I had a passion for this! Not just for grooming, but for the fur babies in my care. I learned how to read them, respect them, and how to earn their respect.

In my eyes there is no such thing as a bad pet. There is only such a thing as an untrained pet, a scared pet, or a pet in pain. I learned how to make them as comfortable as possible during the grooming process. Eventually, my vision and the vision of the company I was working for just did not align.So, with help I was able to open my own salon. My vision for this salon is not to just groom pets, but instead to take care of precious family members. I wanted to make a place for these babies to have a spa day. When I go to a spa I feel pampered and relaxed, so why shouldn’t they? They should have a safe, clean place to have a relaxing day for themselves. I also strive to always use the best products and do what’s best for the pet. We strive for every baby that leaves this salon to leave feeling more relaxed and rejuvenated than when they arrived. We are a one-on-one grooming salon with all services inclusive(with the exception of the sprucing seasonal packages that are 100% optional). No pet should be limited to the care or respect they deserve! We make connections not only with these babies but also their parents. We always strive to be and do better!

I like this place compared to the other dog salons in Nederland. They are very transparent about their grooming process, nothing is done in the backroom aside from the bathing. Trims are done out in the open and it makes me feel at ease as an owner. My dog is my baby and i like to be able to see whats happening. They are friendly with the dogs where as other salons will yell and shove dogs. They allowed me to sit inside the salon as a new client my dog warmed up to them very quickly so I didn’t need to stay after the second grooming. But they were always understanding which I appreciated. Im a regular customer and had to go to another salon :( because i could no longer afford the services at Salon Dog but if you have the money to do so come here to Salon Dog your babies will be safe and happy.

100% TOTALLY recommend Brittany and staff at Salon D.O.G. We , as most, have a very spoiled malti-poo. She is sweet,not mean, but a cry baby like you have never seen before, all while wagging her tail. The girls were phenomenal and so sweet . I highly recommend them.

Wow. What an absolute amazing place to bring your pup. My dog was adopted from the shelter and was horribly matted. Salon Dog took care of him and had my dog looking a million bucks! He smelled amazing and was SO SOFTT!!! We got his nails done, shaved, his ears cleaned and a bath! Prices are very affordable and the quality of work is phenomenal. I will only ever go to salon dog. Highly recommend!!

Beautifully Made

I brought my two boys in for nail trims, our first visit and certainly not our last. As soon as we walked in they were treated like family, and my boy's tails kept wagging. Dogs can sense when a person is nervous but Pakwa and Koko took right to them. Brittany you have a great way with dogs and I thank you for treating them like family. I see, after our first visit, why you have 5 stars. Keep up the great work, my boys now have a new groomer

Got referred by my wife’s co-worker. Must say
she was not wrong when she said she knows they take care of her dog. This was Louie’s second time there and he did not hesitate to walk beyond the gate and commence to start his licking and jumping of excitement. We have taken him to other groomers and there has always been an uneasy feeling of leaving him. This is the only groomer this far we have come to for a second time and will continue to bring Louie in for his time to get pampered. We are on a schedule for every 2 weeks and I’m sure he looks forward to those Friday mornings at the D.O.G.
